Ever since the advent of the Internet–and the ease at which video and audio files can be both recorded and transferred electronically–the hard-copy portion of the music business, i.e. compact discs and digital cassettes, has seen a gradual, yet entirely evident, slow down. EMI, the world’s third-largest music company has already been on the record in saying that legal music downloads have played a part in sagging sales. Yes, there are problems in emi camp possibly due to music downloads and unless new marketing procedures are implemented, hard-copy music sales are apt to continue their slide.
